YogaKids Summer Camp 2013

Early Bird Pricing Ends May 11!

Camp begins with time for journaling or drawing. This quiet activity allows children to tune into themselves and relax in an unstructured way. Next, active yoga will be used to explore a different culture each week. I will share stories, poems, and non-fictional material to encourage the children’s understanding and acceptance of our diverse world. Students will prepare and enjoy nutritious snacks, including fresh fruits, vegetables and whole grains. Finally the students will create art projects that relate to the cultural theme.

Testimonials

"My 2 sons participated in the summer yoga camp with Kim and loved it. They enjoyed the weekly themes, art projects, yoga, and stories. It was a nice change of pace from competitive sports and I could see a noticeable difference with my oldest son. He seemed much more relaxed and at ease. It was a great experience and they gained some great life tools."

Kim Vulinovic is the director and teacher of all the YogaKids classes at Ahimsa Yoga Studio. She has studied a variety of yoga styles for over 20 years. She is a Certified YogaKids Teacher (CYKT) and Hatha Yoga Teacher.

Kim has found that children are very open to the transformative power of yoga. Students learn proven stress relieving techniques as well as gain fitness, fun, and educational benefits.

Each YogaKids class is tailored to how children learn and play, integrating traditional yoga techniques with language arts, games, music and storytelling.

Since yoga is a non-competitive activity, self-esteem is naturally fostered. This Parents Choice Award winning program employs ecology, anatomy, earth care and life lessons that echo the yogic principles of oneness, interdependence, and fun!
