Here are some frequently asked questions (FAQ's) :

Q: I'd like to attend a class. Do I need to sign up online?

A: No! Just show up 10 minutes before class begins, even if you have a Groupon.

Q: I'm out of shape and/or not flexible! Can I still do yoga?

A: Yes! It's never too late to improve your health or flexibility. In a yoga class, everyone is at a different level and the instructors will give you a few different options to try.

Q: Can I do yoga if I have an injury or physical limitation?

A: If you feel your injury will not allow you to try most of the poses with modifications, it may be best to take another week off. Please let the instructors know before class if you have an injury or limitation. We look forward to helping people of all ages, sizes and genders.

Q: Which class should I take?

A: Yoga is varied and with any luck, it can become a life-long practice. If you are brand new to it, we recommend a beginners, hatha, de-stress or candlelight class.

If you are athletic and have previous yoga experience, the vinyasa flow or hatha vinyasa classes are a good place to start.

If you want a slower paced class, take a hatha, hatha vinyasa, candlelight, de-stress, or beginners class.

Q: What should I wear or bring to class?

A: Wear comfortable clothes that you can move in. Bring a yoga mat if you have one (we rent mats for $2) and a water bottle if  you need one. Yoga is done in bare feet, but you can wear socks if you'd like.

Q: Do you have mats for rent or purchase?

A: Yes. We have clean mats for rent for $2. We also have mats for sale at the studio (regular for $25 and extra thick for $30).

Q: When should I arrive for class?

A: 10 minutes before class begins, especially if you are a new student. You need time to sign forms and get ready for class.

Q: What does Ahimsa mean?

A: Ahimsa (ah-HIM-suh) is a sanskrit term that means non-violence or non-harming in thought or deed. It's one of the five yamas, or moral codes, that yogis follow. Check out our yoga blog post to learn more.

Q: Do you have beverages available?

A: Yes. We have water and tea. We encourage you to bring your own water bottle.

Q: Can my child take yoga?

A: As long as children are well-behaved and can stay in the class for its entire duration and not disrupt others, that is fine with us. We also offer yoga classes especially for kids and teens.

Q: Can I do yoga if I'm pregnant?

A: All of our teachers are able to instruct on yoga during pregnancy, but it is recommended you consult with your physician before beginning any new exercise program during pregnancy. Please let the instructor know you are pregnant before attending a class. We offer drop-in prenatal classes Sundays 1:30-2:45 for $15 per class.
