We've just scheduled a Gong Immersion (sometimes referred to as a gong bath) on the Full Moon in October!
The gong immersion is: Wednesday, October 12 7:30-8:30pm at the studio and it costs $20 per person.
You can sign up online before (ahimsaoakpark.com/events) or show up the day of. On that Wednesday, the 7:30pm class will be cancelled and replaced with the gong immersion. You will LOVE it. It is the most relaxing thing to do. Also, the Full Moon is a very cool time to do the gong immersion and when you show up, you'll find out why.
Our community yoga class has changed since the last blog post. It is now....
Sundays 7:30-8:30pm and is $5 cash.
The class will be a mixed level class taught by teachers at Ahimsa (so you can get to know all of the teachers) OR by new teachers looking to get more teaching experience. We hope you'll enjoy this class. Bring your friends!
Our new schedule is STILL a work in progress, but we've got most of it figured out. We still need to fill 1 or 2 gaps with fantastic teachers, but it's ready for the most part. Introducing new teachers: Manal Ramadan, Stephanie Kardos, Teresa Heit-Murray, Kim Wade, Muriel Quinn, and Anna Leonard. Introducing new classes: Candlelight Yin/Restorative, Tibetan Heart Yoga, and $5 Community Classes each Saturday from 4-5pm. Check it out below! Namaste.
We've just added a fertility yoga class to the schedule for Sunday, July 17 from 3:30-4:45pm.
Here is a description of the class:
This class will be geared towards those trying to conceive. We will practice asanas (poses) and pranayama (breathing techniques) that nourish the reproductive organs, calm the nervous system and relax the mind and body, helping to release accumulated anxiety and stress. After class, you are welcome to stay for tea and water and meet with the other women.
We've moved Gosia's 10:15-11:30am Hatha class to 6:30-7:30am on Thursdays. This class is amazing and it would be the perfect way to start your day. Hope to see you there!
The Yoga Pose Photo Contest at A Day in Our Village at Scoville Park was a huge success! We have the best pictures and need your help voting. I finally have a few minutes to spare to write about the studio's first week. We opened Thursday and from Friday through Thursday (7 days) we've had yogis in 18 of the 22 classes offered. This is AMAZING! THANK YOU for your support and it has been so much fun meeting everyone and sharing yoga together.
On another note, I'm tired. I've taught a lot of classes this past week. But people ask me if I feel stressed, and I've never had such an unstressful week. I'm so relaxed, I ... Continue reading...
We've finally set an opening date. It's tomorrow, Thursday, May 26! We will be offering our full class schedule from here forward, except class this Sunday only, May 29 the night class is canceled.

Check out the studio before we started. Previously, it was Bulldog Crossfit.
Our lease began May 1 and we actually signed the lease that morning at 9am. We weren't worried because we have the best landlord ever - Tai Chi instructor, Paul Channic, who is probably the kindest man in the world. Who has a landlord who is a Tai Chi Instructor? It's really nice.
While my Dad and I were at the Tai Chi Center a couple of doors down my mom was at the "studio." We were only gone for about 10 minutes and... Continue reading...
